We sure have had a busy few days at the OSRUI office! On Saturday we welcomed over 350 of last summer’s campers to reunion for an afternoon of seeing friends, having fun, eating pizza and celebrating Havdallah together. Our grade-school aged campers created posters about some of their favorite things at camp to be hung up at different synagogues, and our middle-school aged campers packed over 20 bags of donated food for a local food shelf. The day of course included lots of singing and OSRUI ruach, or spirt. A big thank you to Congregation Beth Am in Buffalo Grove for hosting!

On Sunday our 2012 Rashei Eidot (unit heads) met at camp with Jerry, Susan, Denise and me to work on planning for next summer. We are lucky to have most of our Rashei Eidot returning from last year to continue their great work. They really are a talented group that we are so fortunate to have at OSRUI! Click here for a preview of who will be at camp this summer.

Over forty of our summer faculty members joined us at camp Sunday afternoon for a busy 24-hours of preparing the limudim (Jewish education) lessons for the summer. The faculty works closely with our Rashei Eidot to provide guidance and leadership for the staff and support to the campers all summer long. Thank you to Rabbi Amy Memis-Foler from Temple Judea Mizpah and Cantor Ross Wolman from B’nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim for co-chairing this annual gathering at camp!

Of course, if you haven’t yet signed up for Summer 2012 at OSRUI there are still some spaces available in Kallah, Tiferet, Moshavah and Chalutzim. Click here to register. For more information visit our website or call our office; we are always happy to talk about camp!
