It is hard to believe that our wonderful Kallah Atid campers have only been with us at OSRUI for about 36 hours. We have been very busy Atidexperiencing all of the best things at camp; from horseback riding, to climbing to the top of the Etgar tower, to pontooning or tubing on Lac La Belle, our Atid campers have done it all. Each chanich/a (camper) participated in these activities with their tzrif (cabin) mates, who have become their special kehilah (community) members for the week.

Tonight, Kallah Atid joined the rest of OSRUI at the annual Gesher Carnival! The theme was survivor and two of our very own Kallah Atid chanichim participated in the “Survivor” opening game against two campers in Tzofim. Gesher created unique game booths that all the chanichim had the opportunity to play during the carnival. The favorite booth for many of the chanichim was the Dunk Tank because they got to dunk their Rosh Eidah into a tank of water! After a hilarious time at the carnival, everyone in Atid relaxed for the evening and the Sh’ma Pajama Party. Everyone brought their OSRUI Sh’ma pillow cases to the Rotunda for a soothing evening of meditation on the pillow cases and learning about the letters that create Shma- shin, mem, and ayin. We ended the night with delicious chocolate chip cookies and milk!

Our chanichim have also started to prepare for Shabbat! They are so excited for Shabbat to start tomorrow evening. They made Shabbat Shalom table mats at the Mirkaz Ivrit (Hebrew Center), which they are very excited to bring home and show to their families on Sunday. This morning we had a special visit from the Sabbath Bride who talked to us about her favorite part of Shabbat- eating delicious food with her friends and resting. Tomorrow morning, everyone will get to make their own challah for Shabbat dinner, learn the rikudei am (Israeli dances) that everyone at camp does on Saturday afternoon, and learn about Havdallah, which is the service that ends Shabbat and welcomes a new week.

We are so excited to celebrate Shabbat with all of our chanichim, I know that it will be the best Shabbat ever!
