Shalom OSRUI from Newberry, Michigan! We have had a fantastic first week of our trip! Since our last blog post, we have had a few relatively easy days. We swam in Lake Michigan at Indian Lake Campground and watched a beautiful sunset over the lake. The next day we biked to Big Knob Campground for a more primitive camping experience and we learned how to make wooden spoons by whittling and burning out the wood.

Yesterday, we biked to the Shapiro’s summer home near Curtis, Michigan, where we were warmly welcomed with a delicious spread and great company. It was a very awesome experience to meet up with members of the OSRUI community in the Upper Peninsula.

Today we are biking down to Mackinac and will cross into the lower part of Michigan to finish the last leg of the trip. We are looking forward to Shabbat and a day of rest. Hope all is well back in Oconomowoc and we can’t wait to see everyone in a week!
