blog3-e1433890396989-768x1024It’s another beautiful start to the summer, and as of yesterday, our entire tzevet (staff) is at camp! Moshavah staff arrived 2 weeks ago to take part in Wilderness First Aid Training. Tzofim followed the next week, and the two “downstairs” eidot (units) worked tirelessly to put up tents, and prepare their eidot for the upcoming summer.

On Wednesday, our Mishlachat (Israeli delegation) arrived, and began work to prepare Israeli programming for Chalutzim and the rest of camp. We have more second year Mishlachat members than ever before, and it is clear that their passion, as well as the passion of all of the new Mishlachat members, will be an unbelievable asset to OSRUI this summer.

On Monday morning, the rest of the tzevet arrived at the gates of OSRUI. These included the Tiferet, Kallah and Chalutzim staff members, as well as the Machonikim and Avodaniks. After 10 months of being apart, the reunion of great friends could be heard all over camp, in the form of laughing, crying and most importantly, extreme (but appreciated) hugging.

Over the course of this week, each of the eidot will be working to prepare for the arrival of their chanichim (campers). We have some amazing new training programs on gender and diversity that both our staff and administration are very excited to implement into our routine. Our staff will also be spending time meeting with our mirpa’ah (health center) team, aquatics staff, inclusion team, and learning about parent concerns. We will be having time for t’fillot (services), singing, staff-bonding and fun! The following pictures show our first year counselors engaging in a program devoted to understanding camper needs.

Our staff can’t wait for the chanichim to arrive, and are counting down the days to Opening Day!

As always, feel free to contact us with any questions as the summer grows closer. Have a wonderful rest of your day!
