*We're collecting Children's Books! OSRUI is again collecting children's books (suitable for children in grades 1-6) for Camp CAR, a year-long partnership between NFTY Chicago, the regional Reform Jewish youth group, and Cooke Magnet Elementary School in Waukegan, IL. NFTY teens volunteer in Waukegan throughout the year, and then welcome elementary school campers to a weekend planned and led by NFTYites at OSRUI. Last year OSRUI campers and the Women of Reform Judaism donated over 100 books for the campers to read at Camp CAR and take home with them. These children don’t always have access to books outside of school, and were SO thankful for the special take-home gift of two books last summer.
