Read what previous Shabbat Shira participants said about the program:
"A great opportunity for spiritual renewal and making community through music."

"One of the highlights was to spend relaxed time with the faculty."
"I was enormously impressed by the faculty's musical ability, and willingness to share, both musically and personally."
"If you're interested in a relaxing, low pressure, spiritual weekend, Shabbat Shira is the place for you."
"Writing. Song-leading. Teaching. Learning. This is our avodah. We are not trained for it at Shabbat Shira. We are freed to do it - with joy."

Check-in will begin at 2 pm Thursday, and the weekend will end about 11:00 am on Sunday. Download the Shabbat Shira 2016 schedule to give you an idea of how the weekend has been structured in the past.

All three buildings feature rooms with two twin beds and private baths -- a few Bayit rooms share baths with an adjoining room. The fee includes housing, meals, and all programming. This event takes place at URJ Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute, the regional camp of the Union for Reform Judaism in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, located between Milwaukee and Madison. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation to camp. Driving directions are in the Quick Links in the upper right of this page. The nearest airport is Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Mitchell Field). For transit from the Milwaukee Airport to camp, we recommend GO Riteway which offers van service to the camp at a discounted rate from the Milwaukee Airport (Mitchell Field). If you are booking for more than one person, call 800-236-5450 for reservations with a group discount. The best time to arrive at the Milwaukee Airport is between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm.

Additional transit options
Some participants like to fly into O'Hare Airport in Chicago, which is a 2-hour drive from camp. There are hourly bus shuttles from O'Hare to the Milwaukee Airport, where you can get a ride on a van to camp. Amtrak also runs from downtown Chicago and Glenview, Illinois to the Milwaukee Airport (where you can get a ride on a van to camp).

There is a $100 cancellation fee. All cancellations must be made in writing. We regret we cannot give refunds for cancellations less than three days (72 hours) in advance of the program.
