We are thrilled that Rachel Marks will be returning to OSRUI this summer to train our Machonikim!  Rachel grew up at camp as a camper, counselor, and unit head.  She is currently studying to become a Rabbi at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles.  Here are some questions we asked Rachel so you can get to know her better!

How many years have you been at camp?
11 years.

What is your favorite meal at camp?
Grilled Cheese Fridays…but only downstairs! 🙂

What is your favorite all-camp event?
I love the Judaica Bowl!  The thrill of victory…the agony of defeat…it’s better than the Superbowl, and the ruach can’t be beat!

What is your favorite Shabbat afternoon lunch?
Who knows?  I’m still full from the doughnuts and chocolate milk from breakfast!!

What is your favorite aquatic activity?
Pontoon Party!

What is your favorite Yom Day (themed days)?
Backwards Day!

What is your best camp memory?
There are literally thousands of awesome memories to choose from, but I love all of my memories of sitting around the campfire with all of my best friends and singing Saturday Night Folk Night songs!

We can’t wait for Rachel to begin working with our Machonikim and developing them into fantastic counselors!
