by Lily Booker, Moshavah Rosh Eidah (Unit Head)

It has been a wild three weeks here in Moshavah, and we are absolutely thrilled to head out for our final tiyul (trip) of the session! We have climbed at Devils Lake, canoed down the Black River, biked the Glacial Drumlin State Trail, and hiked the Kettle Morraine. We have seen the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises, and have created and shared memories with one another, all around the teva (nature).

As we head out for our last tiyul, we can’t help but look back at the amazing tiyulim we have already been on. We’ve made friends with one another, we’ve experienced Judaism in a new outlet, and most importantly, we have created a tight-knit community here in Moshavat HaTeva. It couldn’t happen without the help of the hard-working, dedicated madrichim (counselors) who go above and beyond to make these tiyulim and days at camp the most memorable they can be, and the amazing chanichim (campers) that make up the core of our community. We are all very excited to return in a few days from our last tiyul – extra stinky for the last time’s sake! And of course, we’re looking forward to our final Shabbat with our whole OSRUI community, as we say goodbye to summer 2018 and start looking forward to next year!

Lily Booker just graduated from Boston University where she studied International Relations with a focus on the Middle East and the security dilemma. Between her time as a camper, counselor, and Unit Head in Moshavah, she has been on a total of 24 trips (so far)!!
