So who would expect the nurses to be working already, but some of the summer nurses are already in the Health Center (Mirpa’ah or just Mir) , cleaning and organizing so that on June 20, 2011, we are spic and span and ready to start.

All medication (with the exception of rescue inhalers or topical creams) will be dispensed by the nurses in the Health Center.  If your child is taking medication at camp, there are a few thing you need to do to get your child ready to join us.

  1. All medications, whether over-the-counter or prescription, must be in original containers, with the campers name on it.  If it is over-the-counter medication, you can print your camper’s name, first and last, on the box.  This includes vitamins and other over-the-counter medications.
  2. Prescription medication must have the prescription clearly labeled (for example, “Take one tablet before breakfast” not “Take as directed.”
  3. For over-the-counter medication, we will follow the directions on the bottle.  If your child’s physician has instructions other than those on the bottle, you must send this in writing.
  4. Make a list of all your child’s medication; include dosages, and when each is to be given.
  5. Please place all medication containers and the list in a zip-lock type bag and put your child’s name on the bag with a permanent marker.

Your child’s medication should be placed in his or her duffel bag, suitcase, or back pack.  On opening day, all campers with medication will visit the health center.  More about that later!
