*Transportation Fee: This fee covers a coach bus to and from camp. We have bus stops in the Chicago area, Minnesota, Madison, and Milwaukee area. In light of Covid-19, and a desire to minimize the number of people on our campgrounds on opening and closing days, we anticipate that all campers will need to take the bus for Summer 2021. If drop-off and pick-up at camp become an option in the spring, we will refund this fee to anybody who chooses to arrive or depart camp without the bus. This fee does not apply to campers flying to camp.
The transportation fee is covered in the cost of Atid tuition.
WAITLIST – If a session has a waitlist, that means there is currently no more space available in that program. There is still space available in many of our other sessions. Reach out to Debbie Locketz (email@example.com) if you’d like to talk about finding the best fit for your camper – and you can join the waitlist to be notified if a space becomes available in that session. A full refund including your deposit for the waitlisted session will be given if at any time you choose to be removed from the waitlist or are ultimately unable to be placed.

*This date is subject to change, and there may be availability to come several days earlier than July 18th.
**Thanks to a new initiative called RootOne, which seeks to dramatically increasing the number of teens visiting Israel next summer, a limited number of $3,000 RootOne Vouchers will automatically be applied on a first come/first serve basis. RootOne is seeded through the generosity of The Marcus Foundation, and is powered by The Jewish Education Project. The initial allocation of vouchers have been distributed, but we encourage you to join the waitlist in the event that more become available.
There is also a $1,000 subsidy thanks to the generosity of a donor in the URJ OSRUI community. This will help lower the total cost by $4,000 for teens on Chalutzim Ba’Aretz this summer. The $1000 subsidy is still available for any participant of the Chalutzim Ba’Aretz trip.
Terms of enrollment
A $500 per Camper, per session deposit will be collected upon registration. This deposit is non-refundable, unless indicated below.
There are various payment plans available to choose from at registration, which all adhere to the following schedule.
January 22nd, 2021 – 25% of tuition payment is due
March 23rd, 2021 – an additional 50% of tuition payment is due (75% of tuition paid)
April 22nd, 2021 – final payment is due.

If you cancel by March 23rd, 2021 or prior – 100% of tuition is refundable except for the administrative deposit
If you cancel between March 24th, 2021 and May 7th, 2021 – 75% of tuition is refundable
If you cancel on May 8th, 2021 or after – no refunds will be given unless stated below.
Refunds will be given including your deposit:
- for campers on a “Waiting List” (those not able to be placed in their desired session at OSRUI) if at any time they choose to be removed from the list or are ultimately unable to be placed;
- if OSRUI is unable or elects not to open because of government regulations, orders or guidelines
- if OSRUI is required to cancel the session of a child with a pre-existing health condition;
- if OSRUI is unable or chooses not to open at their own discretion.
Change of Session
If Camp is required to make a change to Camper session prior to summer, you will be notified by Camp in writing. Camp will provide an opportunity at that time for you to cancel Camper’s session without penalty (including return of any deposit). You will also be eligible for this change of session refund for all children in your household who are registered at Camp regardless if the sessions of the sibling(s) were not changed.
A change to the Camper session is defined as one or more of the following: a change of session dates, session cost, or camp geographic location change.
additional fees and discounts
Sibling Discount: Families with two or more campers will receive a $100 discount for each camper after the first. The discount may not be used to reduce your deposit; it will be applied to your balance.
Referral Discount: Any current camper who refers a first-time camper (not a sibling and must be a new family to OSRUI) who attends OSRUI 2021 for 2 weeks or longer will receive a $100 tuition credit. If the first-time camper applies to camp during Chanukah (December 10th – 18th, 2020), this family will also recieve a $100 tuition credit. There is no limit on the number of tuition credits a camper may receive. This fee is not valid for cash and may not be used toward your deposit. The referring camper must attend camp to get the tuition credit. If the referred camper cancels, the credit will be removed. Please email the names of campers you have referred to firstname.lastname@example.org. Those families must indicate that you referred them when they register.
The tuition fee includes: All camp activities, laundry, the basic camp pharmacy registration fee, and free limited access for camper families to our online service for viewing photos and emailing your camper.
The tuition fee does not include:
Non-URJ Fee: Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute is part of the Union for Reform Judaism family of camps and youth programs. Families who are not members of a URJ congregation will be assessed a surcharge of $75 per week, not to exceed $500 per family. See the grid above for costs per session.

In light of COVID-19, we will not be offering intersession programming for campers staying for multiple sessions. We will use this time to clean camp, and get ready for the second half of the summer. We ask that each camper is picked up on Closing Day (July 18th), and returned to camp on Opening Day (July 20th).
