It’s been an awesome Staff Week! I had the privilege of spending the first part of the week with this group of dedicated, talented, and compassionate young adults. They’ve had a week of intensive training with Jerry and Susan, as well as Paula Kaye, the Head Nurse, Debbie Kahn, our inclusion coordinator, along with our Hebrew Center staff, the Waterfront staff, and a host of others who are helping them prepare to be outstanding madrichim (counselors). On Wednesday, the entire tzevet (staff) was treated to a day-long workshop with Michael Brandwein, an internationally recognized expert on teaching and leading young people. Of course, there was plenty of fun this week as well, including the banquet, sports & games, milkshake night, and Oconomostaff, our annual staff talent show. According to Susan, the talent was amazing and featured stand-up comedy, vocal music, all kinds of instrumental music, magic, and more. Now the staff is preparing for a restful Shabbat before they make last-minute preparations on Sunday.

Those of you with campers joining us on Monday, June 20th, should have received an email from us earlier today with opening day information. If you did not receive that email, you’ll also find the information in the newsletter on Bunk1.com

Shabbat Shalom from all of us at OSRUI!
