Wow!! What a week we’ve had!  Swimming, Ivrit, Chugim, our first Shabbat of the summer, and the new Chavayah programming in the evenings (giving our campers even more choices than before!). Plus many of us have had the chance to do archery, climb the indoor and outdoor etgar, as well as exciting lakefront activities including waterskiing, sailing, and tubing!!

In our archaeological explorations, we’ve excavated artifacts from dig sites that represent different cities in Israel, and are about to put together a museum of the treasures we’ve found.

Artist-in-residence Jonathan Franklin has joined us this week to guide us in painting the outside of the Noah’s Ark wash house. All of Kallah has already played a big role in the creation of the murals by providing drafts and sketches of their imaginative ideas to adorn the walls.

And the excitement just keeps coming with the Kallah talent show, a pool party, and the camp-wide 4th of July celebration this weekend!!

Well it’s been a great week here in Kibbutz HaTzofim since the last blog post went up! We’ve had a great Shabbat, Saturday Night Folk Night,  a pool party, and days filled with sunshine!

Shabbat was filled with singing, dressing up, eating a great meal with the entire camp, and enjoying a rousing Shabbat Shira. We swam in the lake on Saturday afternoon after great t’filot (services) and another yummy meal with the whole camp.

On Saturday nights in Tzofim we enjoy Folk Night, which involves singing great campfire songs like Puff the Magic Dragon and Lean On Me. The whole eidah (unit) really enjoyed singing these songs along with the madrichim (counselors), who get really into the singing, atmosphere, and flannel shirts of Saturday Night Folk Night.

Today in Tzofim we enjoyed a great pirate-themed pool party! We ate a lunch of meatball subs on the pool deck and enjoyed the warm sun. We swam, played games finding sunken treasure and lots of basketball, and found hidden coins throughout the pool. We were all grateful for extra time at the pool on a hot day like today!

We’re all looking forward to the last couple of days in Kibbutz HaTzofim Aleph. We will have another fabulous Shabbat with the entire camp, which will finish with the Star Spangled Mesibah, the all-camp talent show put on by Tiferet. Tzofim is excited to cheer for Max, Esther, and Julian, who auditioned for the show and were selected to perform!  Everyone is sad to be leaving, but we know that the next couple of days of Tzofim Aleph will be absolutely fantastic!
