by Daniel Shore, Rosh Eidah of Kallah (we call him just “Shore”)

The session is in full swing, and we’ve wasted no time meeting our cabinmates, creating a brit (contract) for our cabins to establish what we need to do to successfully live as a community, and of course, learning the cheers. K-A-L-L-A-H Kallah WOO!

On opening night not only did we celebrate two opening-day birthdays(!), but we also found out that we will be preparing for another celebration later in the session … Vanessa Ehrlich (Educator of Lakeside Congregation in Highland Park, IL) and Cantor Arik Luck (of Beth Emet in Evanston, IL) are helping us to embrace Israel and plan a party to honor it’s 63rd birthday!! Theodor Herzl, Abraham, and Moshe Dayan visited us yesterday to tell us what we need to be doing over the next few weeks in order to get ready. We’re SO excited to be in charge of this great responsibility!

Yesterday and today we’ve had a great time staying cool in Oconomowoc–extended swimming at the pool, rest time in the A/C, and our first trip this session down to the lake front!
