The highlight of this week was our trip to see the Milwaukee Brewers in action. An addition to this annual fieldtrip was a tailgate party outside of Miller Park — a new adventure for Gesher. A few counselors went ahead of the group and started grilling, so when we arrived there were hot dogs, soda, and chips waiting for us to eat. Many of the kids enjoyed sitting on the lawn and eating with their friends. Before the game started we headed into the stadium to find that our seats were right next to the big brew crew mascot! Many of the campers made good friends with him. And funny enough we were sitting right next to camp Henry Horner, another Jewish Camp from the Midwest.  Some campers were routing for the Cubs and some for the Milwaukee Brewers (and others screaming for different random teams that were not playing.) The Milwaukee Brewers won in the end but even the Cubs fans had a great time.

Next week we are off on our social action trip helping the city of Oconomowoc! Thank you to all who have sent in coupons for us to use. They will go to great use next week as we venture into the grocery store to buy food on a budget.

In addition to these field trips, everyone is having a great time in camp. As the weather cooled down we were able to start participating in more outdoor activities, and we continued learning Hebrew and studying prophets. Many kids have gone and will go water skiing, tubing, on boat rides, and other fun activities. Don’t forget to write to your camper! They anxiously await the mail every day.
