Name: Max Weinberg
Position at camp: Avodah Rosh Eidah (Unit Head)
Years on staff: 4
Total years at OSRUI: 4

What do you do when you’re not at camp?
I am studying elementary education at Indiana University and will be student teaching in urban schools in Chicago starting in January 2013. I was a 4 year member of the Indiana University Marching Hundred where I performed at football games, basketball games, NFL games, the Super Bowl, and the NCAA tournament.

What is your favorite part of camp and why?
Shabbat Shira. The feeling of the entire camp in the same room, singing together is indescribable.

What is your favorite meal at camp?
Saturday night cookouts – burgers and hot dogs!

What is your favorite memory at OSRUI?
My first Shabbat Shira. I was blown away by the amazing ruach (spirit) and excitement that every camper and counselor has every Shabbat.

What keeps bringing you back to work at camp?
The friendships that are developed here and carry on through the entire year, and watching campers not want to leave camp at the ends of sessions.

What do you hope to accomplish this summer at camp?
I hope to grow as a leader and be an effective Avodah rosh eidah by keeping the camp clean and running smoothly.
