Name: Andi Pearlman
Position at camp: Avodah Rosh Eidah
Years on staff: 6
Total years at OSRUI: 13

What do you do when you’re not at camp?
I recently graduated from the University of Illinois in Speech and Hearing Science. I am currently exploring the field of Speech Pathology through aide positions and applying to graduate programs. I am also becoming involved with my home synagogue after returning home from school.

What is your favorite part of camp and why?
I love campfires because they bring everyone together for song and snacks in a relaxed community.

What is your favorite meal at camp?
My favorite meal is bagels.

What is one thing about you that would surprise people?
I know the entire English Phonetic Alphabet.

What is your favorite memory at OSRUI?
My favorite memory is of a tzrif night (cabin night) I had as a madricha where the chanichim played a prank on our Rosh Eidah. They blew up balloons and then I went into her room and took out the window screen and they passed balloons in through the window to fill up her room.

What keeps bringing you back to work at camp?
It allows me to see the friends I have made over the years even though we may live far apart. I get to help instill the values, ideals and love of camp that were instilled in me when I was a camper. I also get to continue on the traditions of OSRUI that were important to me growing up.

What do you hope to accomplish this summer at camp?
I hope to instill the love of camp that I have and the enjoyment of being on staff in the Avodahniks along with developing their leadership skills.
