SHABBAT KORACH 2012

If you walked around camp yesterday and today, you would see some interesting sights …yesterday was the usual High-Sock Thursday in Tzofim, where all of the staff and campers wear their high socks…some were regular long socks and some were colorful and amazing.  Speaking of colorful, today is Face Paint Friday in Kallah.  You will see photos on Bunk 1 of kids with big smiles and sporting fun decorations!

Yesterday was also Yom SuperHero all over camp, with campers and staff dressed like their favorite superhero…and lots of them made up new and creative superheroes just for the day.  With all of those superheroes we all felt so wonderfully protected!

Moshavah is getting ready for their first trip, which will take them rock climbing, biking, hiking and canoeing.  They are already prepping for the trip and getting all of their gear ready.  These trips are always exciting and engage the campers in new ways for them to learn about the environment and themselves.

Tiferet are well into their studios and preparing for Arts Night coming up in a few days.  Watch for more on this in future letters and blogs.

And Chalutzim implemented a great program on Jewish Leadership.  It is a real pleasure to see such interesting and intelligent kids applying their personal experiences on what they can do in the future as they take on new roles both here at OSRUI and throughout Jewish life.

A word about updates in the Media Room and our Theater…both have seen a face lift through the efforts of the staff who have laid carpeting and painted…kids really love the new feel and view as they work on their own creativity.

Shabbat Shalom!
