by Daniel Shore, Kallah Rosh Eidah (Unit Head)

After a great Shabbat and seeing a performance from the Israeli Scout Caravan, Kallah has an amazing second week in store!

Today is Kallah-Tzofim Day. We began by connecting with Tzofim for Limudim, where our faculty led us in a team-building activity as we put together our own Towers of Babel. Then it’s heading downstairs to Tzofim for a picnic lunch. Tonight we’ll be sharing in singing American folk songs with all of our ruach!

We also put in the effort this past weekend to prepare for Tie-Dye Tuesday!! It will be a colorful day in Kallah. Tuesday evening is Erev Tzrif (cabin night), where the counselors have prepared lots of special programs for their tzrifim ranging from drum circles to dance parties to artsy craftsy fun.

By the end of the week, we will be sharing our talents at our end-of-the-session Beit Café (coffee house) talent show. All of the chanichim will have a chance to showcase individual and group acts. With other surprises in store along the way, the rest of our time in Kallah Aleph will fly by and we will already be getting excited for your campers to come back next summer!!

Daniel Shore is the Rosh Eidah (Unit Head) of Kallah. This is his ninth year on staff at OSRUI and fourth summer as Kallah Rosh Eidah. He is a graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and is currently pursuing a PhD at George Mason University outside Washington D.C.
