by Daniel Shore, Kallah Rosh Eidah (Unit Head)
The session is off to a great start—we’ve settled into our cabins, started chugim (our specialty activities that include arts, drama, dance, photography, sailing, sports, filmmaking, and cooking), and met the counselors in our first evening program.
The Third of July was a lot of fun as we watched our very own camper, Evan, perform the song “One Day” (by Matisyahu) at the all camp talent show and then headed to the lakefront for fireworks. One of our counselors taught us the Hebrew word for fireworks, which is “zikukim.”
Today our faculty led us in activities that helped us learn more about water conservation—a big topic this week as we work hard to stay hydrated and use our water wisely! We have been spending plenty of time in the pool and staying cool in some of our favorite buildings for programming.
We are also getting pumped up for Face Paint Friday tomorrow!!
We’ll keep you posted from Kallah,
Shore
