Shalom everyone!

We are all relieved that it has cooled down a bit but that doesn’t stop us from having fun in the water. We had our pool party this week and got to do Zumba in the water, go down the slides and have some fun with Avodah! We are also getting ready for Yom Horim and working really hard to learn songs, dances, and learn about our theme which is “Israel Today.”

On Tuesday, we had Yom Tzava (army day) which was lots of fun and a great opportunity for our chanichim to experience what the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) is all about. We painted our faces, learned about the units of the IDF, and got to live the army experience that our staff members had through stories and pictures. At the end of the day, some of our chanichim even got special shirts from our staff to keep.

We are looking forward to Yom Horim tomorrow and to an adventurous week ahead as we head out on our 3-day canoe trip!

Hila Levin is the Rosh Eidah (Unit Head) of Chalutzim. Hila grew up in Har-Halutz, Israel, and has spent ten summers at OSRUI.  She is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University.
