It’s been a great week in Gesher. Since the kids arrived on Tuesday we have been moving from one activity to the next so quickly it’s hard to remember everything that we do in one day. On Wednesday the kids started their first chugim (choice activities). Everyone seems to be enjoying the options and say it is one of their favorite parts of the day.
Leadership Chug has already started preparing for the carnival at the end of the summer. During their first few days they made skits with different themes we could base the carnival on. On Friday afternoon they presented these skits and a theme has been chosen. However, the theme is top secret so you will have to wait and find out what it is going to be at the end of the summer!
On Friday night Dan Nichols joined us for Shabbat Services. All of the kids were amazed by having him in their presence. Then after staying around to talk with them, he promised to stop by during Shabbat and sing with them and do Yoga with some of them. As promised he did stop by for his song session and even sang one of the boys a special song for his birthday, which we celebrated on Saturday.
After a short Shabbat free time due to the concert, all of the children gathered down in Tzofim for a cook out before enjoying the amazing concert! So much fun was had by all.
This morning started with a sleep in due to a late night at the concert and services to send off Tour La’Agam to bike around the lake. Some of the kids talked about how they would like to do this program when they are old enough.
This week we have a lot of things in store. Tonight we hope to win the Judaica Bowl with the entire camp and later in the week we will go on our first field trip, have a pool party, and much more!
