We are in full swing and Face Paint Friday is underway!!

The chanichim (campers) have been tubing, horseback riding, and climbing the high ropes. We’ve also been learning lots of cheers and singing silly songs.

Wednesday night we had the Kallah Dinner Entertainment Extravaganza with staff doing magic, juggling, and playing music. After that we had s’mores and went on a hayrack ride around camp.

Thursday morning we began exploring the Sh’ma prayer with the help of Anne Lidsky (of Temple Jeremiah in Northfield, Illinois) and Cantor Spilker (of Mt. Zion Temple in St. Paul, Minnesota). They told us about how the prayer is said in the morning and evening and the importance of the message that it sends is to listen to each other and ourselves. Then we tie-dyed pillow cases that have the Sh’ma prayer on them.

Last night we attended Gesher’s all-camp Carnival where we jumped around, played games, won tickets, and cashed them in for prizes! Plus, some lucky campers had the chance to hit the target and submerge the Rosh Eidah (Me) in the dunk tank.

After the Carnival Thursday evening we had a Sh’ma pajama party with milk and cookies, and a special visit from Elmo!

We are very much looking forward to Shabbat tonight and lots more surprises coming over the weekend!

Shabbat Shalom,

Shore
