As we are now changing our name from Media to Digital Arts, the chanichim are growing into a group of Spielbergs! Tzofim and Kallah campers in the filmmaking chug are learning the ropes of filmmaking by doing; both chugs have already produced a few movies in just one week!

Kallah is a getting a taste of filmmaking by participating in the re-production of a movie trailer for Kung Fu Panda. Everyday, a Kallah cabin of chanichim shoots a few scenes on-location at OSRUI, and then returns to the Digital Arts Center to edit the clips together on iMovie. Every group’s footage will then be put together to make one big trailer that will be screened to the entire Kallah near the end of the session.

Tzofim campers are going through the process of creating their own story on film! After getting the feel for filmmaking by adapting a scene from Harry Potter, Tzofim campers are now making a movie about their Limud theme, “Am Yisrael Chai.” They decided to make a “Mock-umentary,” or a scripted documentary of a news report in which field reporters are investigating which Eidah is the best in camp. The reporters soon realize that the OSRUI community transcends Eidot, and that we are all connected as seen during Shabbat Shira (Friday night song session).
