We had a great week in Moshavah! Bright and early on Monday morning we set out on our second tiyul of the session.
The rock climbing trip drove up to Devil’s Lake State Park. They spent their three days hiking up the bluffs, climbing many challenging rock walls, scrambling across a large boulder field, and swimming in Devil’s lake. They had a fantastic time and were all smiling upon their return.
The biking trips spent their few days riding both on the Glacial Drumline State Trail as well as on some scenic country roads. They pushed themselves on the hills and felt so accomplished when they reached the tops. Some people enjoyed the biking so much that upon arriving at the campsites, they proceeded to ride around them exclaiming how much they loved to bike.
The hiking trips trekked along the Ice Age Trail. They worked very hard, carrying all of their gear on their backs from one campsite to the next. They sang and told jokes while they walked and all bonded as a group. They had plenty of time at the campsites to relax after their long days of hiking.
The canoe trip paddled along the Black River. With the sun shining down on them and a nice breeze blowing past, they saw an astounding amount of wildlife. After pulling their canoes onto the shore at their campsites, they were able to cool off in a nearby waterfall and swim in the river.
All in all the trips were phenomenal. The weather was gorgeous and everyone was able to gain new experiences and new friends.
When we returned to camp, we quickly transitioned into the Maccabiah Games. The campers were split into different color teams and spent all day on Thursday competing and gaining points for their team. They represented their teams through playing soccer, basketball, and giant gaga, participating in meshugunah races, poster making, and lots and lots of cheering. It was a very fun day!
We are now all looking forward to a little time to rest on Shabbat before we head out on our third and final tiyul of the session. Time has flown by! I know that the last week of Moshavah Aleph will be fabulous.
