OSRUI is kvelling over our four alumni who were named to the second annual “Double Chai in the Chi:  36 Under 36” list of  young Jewish movers and shakers in Chicago.  The list includes:

Aaron Frazin, founder and CEO of Charlie Contacts Corp, a mobile app that gives savvy professionals the 411 on the person they are about to meet with.  Aaron says he was moved by his experiences volunteering with his family at the InspirationCafe, attending high school in Israel, and serving as a counselor at OSRUI, and he is deeply committed to giving back to the community both at home and abroad.

Joe Seigle is a real estate developer who also serves as the incoming president of JUF’s Young Leadership Division and is a member of the Next Generation Board of the U.S. Holocaust Museum.  He describes himself as a “passionate supporter of OSRUI summer camp.”

Naomi Shapiro is the North American Director of Shorashim, where she facilitates pivotal Israel experiences and educational opportunities for teens and young adults from around the Chicago area.  She notes that, “because I grew up in a small Jewish community in Champaign, spending time in Israel and at summer camp at OSRUI were incredibly important to me in feeling part of the global Jewish community.”

Logan Zinman is Regional Director of Youth Engagement for NFTY’s Chicago Area Region and will serve on the OSRUI faculty this summer in Moshavah Bet.  She works and connects with hundreds of teens year-round to help create events and programs that foster leadership development and Jewish identity.  In addition, she raises funds for the American Cancer Society and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Presented by the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago’s Young Leadership Division (YLD) and Oy!Chicago (www.oychicago.com)—an outreach website for Chicago 20- and 30-somethings—the list shines a spotlight on the faces of Chicago’s Jewish future and recognizes the amazing contributions of this generation. The young professionals featured are noted for making a difference through their work, giving back in their free time, and earning notoriety in the Jewish community and beyond.
