Yesterday, Tiferet Bet had the opportunity to visit the Milwaukee Art Museum. When we arrived at the museum, two of our art specialists, Ohad and Hannah, gave the chanichim a tour of the museum. We visited works of art throughout the museum, but stopped to discuss the intention and meaning behind many pieces. Chanichim learned how to interpret works of art and discuss them in an intellectual way. Many of the Tiferet chanichim have gone to the Milwaukee Art Museum before, and were excited about the opportunity to visit a new exhibit in the museum entitled “30 Americans.” The exhibit focused on African American artists and their commentary on the US. Many of the chanichim drew on knowledge from school to discuss and interpret these pieces, and had engaging and interesting conversations about art and the power it can have.

After the tour, the chanichim split into their studios and connected the works at the museum with their respective art mediums. After a picnic lunch, the chanichim had free time to walk around the museum with each other and explore together. To end the day, the chanichim enjoyed a treat at a local Oconomowoc gelato shop!

It was a wonderful day at the museum! The Tiferet chanichim are happy, healthy, and enjoying camp to the fullest! I am sure the next 2 weeks will be just as wonderful!
