By Amelia Chinn, Gesher Rosh Eidah

As we head into the final week of Gesher 2013, the chanichim are working hard on all the preparations for our upcoming Gesher Carnival! The carnival will be held this Thursday evening for the rest of camp to enjoy. Our chanichim are preparing about 15 booths for other campers to experience, as well as putting together a skit and songs and dances to preform for everyone. We will also have some inflatables and a dunk tank that the chanichim and madrichim can enjoy during the carnival. Our theme of the carnival will finally be revealed to the rest of camp, and we all are excited for how our hard work will be paid off. The Gesher Carnival is an event that everyone always looks forward to during our final week together at OSRUI and this summer I believe will be one of the best ones yet!!

Aside from our carnival, we have had quite a busy week, with a relaxing Shabbat weekend which ended with Erev Tzrif, or Cabin Night, where each cabin had their own special program. Some of the programs included mud gaga, a campfire, a sports night and going down to the beach. On Sunday, we took our third and final trip at Wisconsin Dell’s Mt. Olympus! The chanichim were able to explore the amusement park and waterpark rides with friends and enjoyed their time in the sun. Gesher, Tzofim and Tiferet joined together at Mt. Olympus, so our chanichim were able to explore with other chanichim from other eidot. Now that we have accomplished three field trips, the campers will be enjoying camp programs, two chugim and plenty of preparation for carnival during our next week. This group of campers has been absolutely amazing, as they are making life long friends, working together and building a strong Gesher community.
