Danny Altkorn is our Rosh Eidah of Moshavah this summer! Danny recently graduated from the University of Michigan and will be spending next year in Israel teaching English.
How many years have you been at camp?
This summer will be my 13th at camp and my 5th on staff, and, most importantly, my 7th summer in Mosh
What is your favorite meal at camp?
Baked Ziti is always good, and I think that the Baked Potato Bar is a very underrated meal.
What is your favorite all-camp event?
I love the Maccabiah Games. They’re a great time for campers in different units to interact and get to know each other while unified with the purpose of propelling their team to victory.
What is your favorite Shabbat afternoon lunch?
I’m quite partial to the Israeli-style Shabbat lunch, especially the Israeli salad.
What is your favorite aquatic activity?
I’m always up for a good game of water basketball at the pool, especially knockout. While at the lake I love to go kayaking.
What is your favorite Yom Day (themed days)?
I really enjoy Yom College and Yom Crayon. I wear all yellow clothing either way.
What is your best camp memory?
As a camper in Mosh Aleph, I was on a canoe trip when on the last day we took a wrong turn on the river. We ended up having to walk in the river, pulling our canoes behind us, for the rest of the trip, and faced all sorts of obstacles that could only be overcome with a group effort. This made everyone on the trip work together and we all became much closer as a result. It was a challenging few hours, though, and there was no sight more welcoming than that of the bus at the end.
Danny is so excited for the Mosh campers to arrive and have amazing tiyul (trip) experiences!
