Introducing the Rosh Eidah of Kallah…Libby Fisher! Libby is entering her senior year at the University of Illinois, and is looking forward to attending Hebrew Union College Jewish-Institute of Religion after she graduates.
How many years have you been at camp?
12 years.
What is your favorite meal at camp?
Macaroni and Cheese is the best!
What is your favorite all-camp event?
Shabbat Shira is the best moment of every week! Everybody at camp singing together in one room is so much fun! Plus, I always love Jerry’s Shabbat story!
What is your favorite Shabbat afternoon lunch?
Bar Mitzvah Meal, especially the blintzes!
What is your favorite aquatic activity?
I absolutely love tubing! It’s amazing to hop over the waves and hear the encouragement from your group on the boat!
What is your favorite Yom Day (themed days)?
By far, my favorite Yom Day is Yom Lumber Jack and Jill. Everyone wears flannels and jeans, and we have amazing activities like S’Morning (breakfast at the campfire), Slip n’ Slunch (lunch on Bayit Hill with a slip ‘n slide included), and even Capture the Dessert (a unit-wide game of Capture the Flag with dessert at the end)! We even get to grow face paint beards!
What is your best camp memory?
When I was in Chalutzim, there was a huge rainstorm during one Shabbat afternoon. My friends and I decided to wait it out inside one of the Ivrit Kitot, and we spent the time looking out the window at the rain, joking, reading, and just hanging out. It was absolutely beautiful with the sounds of the rain and the warmth inside the Kitah. Even in the rain, OSRUI is the best!
Libby can’t wait to meet all of Kallah on Opening Day…it’s going to be the best summer yet!
