By Max Antman and Libby Fisher, Rashei Eidah of Kallah

The first day in Kallah has been amazing! We started off with lunch with the whole eidah (unit), and then we moved to the tzrifim (cabins) to unpack and get settled. Next, the chanichim (campers) filled out Ivrit (Hebrew) placement checks to be placed in kitot (classes) and got to see a skit about our limud (learning) theme. This session, we will be learning about Judaism through Archaeology, helped by our very own Tal Yerushalmi (our Israeli version of Carmen Sandiago).IMG_0193

Our tochinit erev (evening program) last night was an eidah-wide mixer, where the chanichim split into four groups and played get-to-know-you games! Everyone had a great time!

This morning we had our first limud session. Each tzrif got a big bag of ‘garbage’ to sift through (don’t worry, it wasn’t real garbage), and were asked to figure out what kind of people most likely threw it away. All the chanichim also went to the breicha (pool) to have a swim test. Tomorrow, we will start swim lessons and agam (lake) activities!

Kallah has so much to look forward to this week! We have an erev tzrif (cabin night) this evening, where each tzrif gets to participate in its own exciting program, and later this week we are having our first pool party and, of course, our first Shabbat!

Kallah has already been fantastic, and everyone is looking forward to the week ahead!
