By Danny Altkorn, Rosh Eidah of Moshavah

We had a very eventful week (since my last blog) in Moshavah! Thursday night was erev ohel (tent night), where each ohel had their own program and a wonderful night of bonding. The activities ranged from spending time at Etgar (the alpine tower and high ropes course) to a scavenger hunt throughout camp. Everyone had a great time!

On Friday evening, we welcomed in our first Shabbat as an eidah (unit). We joined the rest of camp for dinner and Shabbat Shira (song session), and ended the evening with rikud (Israeli dancing)! On Saturday, while everyone enjoyed some well-earned z’man chof’shi (free time), we prepared for our first tiyul (trip) of the summer!

We woke up bright and early Sunday morning, excited to venture forth into the teva (nature). All of the trips went incredibly well and everyone came back happy and looking forward to the next tiyul. The canoers saw eagles and waterfalls on the Black River, while the climbers trekked around Devil’s Lake State Park. The bike trails were not too far away, which allowed them to bike straight back to camp and take a victory lap on their return, screaming Mosh cheers as they rode. And the hikers journeyed through the Kettle Moraine State Forest, staying in backpacking shelters at night and hiking the beautiful Ice Age Trail during the day.

The next tiyul leaves on Sunday and we can’t wait for more amazing experiences!
