As we are saying l‘hitraot our Kallah and Tzofim Aleph campers, I decided it was time to send a note from our newly renovated Mirpa’ah (Health Center). This has been one of the healthiest sessions we have ever had.  If we saw a lot of anything, it was allergies, not surprisingly, but no real viruses or illnesses.  I am not sure if this is because everyone came to camp healthy, or because of good hand hygiene before meals, or because of our renovated health center, but for whatever reason, we have been a very healthy camp so far.

We now have a great addition to our Health Center.  It has been a long time in coming, but now it is finished and it is beautiful.  We have a new entrance way, a new medication room, new medication dispensing cabinets, two new private exam rooms equipped with all we need to examine campers, a day room for campers and staff to rest for an hour or two if they need it during the day, a kitchen/dining room so that when we have campers staying in the mirpa’ah, they can eat at a table (not in their beds), a private office for conferences with staff or campers, and a large evaluation area for our nurses.   In short, we have a very modern Health Center that we have been dreaming about for a long time.
Thank you to our Building and Grounds Manager, Joe Heineke, who oversaw the entire project, as well as the OSRUI Board, the URJ, and everyone who helped us make this dream come true, from me and all of the nurses, doctors and Avodahniks working in the Mirpa’ah.
