Shalom from Kallah and Tzofim!

We are so sad to see Aleph come to an end, but so excited for Bet to start. In the past two weeks we learned all about archeology in Limud (Jewish learning). We also had a combined Kallah and Tzofim Judiaca Bowl where the teams were split up into colors instead of Eidot (units). The chanichim (campers) had a blast! We competed in Maccabiah (color wars) and the chanichim—all of whom were divided into 4 distinct elements (green-earth, blue-water, white-wind and red-fire)—participated in athletic, artistic and intellectual activities in the hopes of winning the games; there was never a dull moment!

Today Kallah and Tzofim’s Bet sessions begin, and we could not be more ecstatic! In Bet there are so many things to look forward to, whether it is swimming in the agam (lake), climbing Etgar (the climbing tower), or participating in our chugim (electives), we know that this session is going to be a great one!

As the chanichim arrive, it is amazing to see friendships that have been on hiatus immediately rekindled and new chanichim instantly welcomed into the family that is OSRUI. When the chanichim arrive, they are met with music and smiling faces, cookies and lemonade, and camp ruach (spirit). There is nothing but laughter and excitement on this opening day, and as the cars continue to roll through our gate, the Kallah and Tzofim Madrichim get ready for yet another amazing session here at OSRUI. Bet is surely going to be an incredible session, and we cannot wait for the rest of the chanichim to get here so the fun can begin!
