By Danny Altkorn, Rosh Eidah of Moshavah

We just finished our third and final tiyul (trip) in Moshavah and now we can look back on the summer and reflect on what a wonderful success it’s been. As usual, the chanichim (campers) traversed the Kettle Moraine State Forest, scrambled around Devil’s Lake State Park and rode the Glacial Drumlin State Trail. The canoe trip didn’t have as much time on the Black River as we would have liked, but we have quite the story to tell now.

Back at camp everyone’s settling down and getting ready for the home stretch. We’re finishing up our limud (Jewish Learning), where we’ve been talking about what it means to be a member of a community and how a community is created. Led by our amazing faculty members Yoni Siden and Rabbi Michael Sommer, the chanichim have been challenged to think outside of the box about things that they might normally take for granted.

The chugim (electives) are wrapping up and everyone is excited to see all of the amazing artwork their peers have created, and tonight we are looking forward to Festikayitz, and all camp talent show featuring acts in Hebrew or related to Israeli culture.

I can’t believe how incredible this session has been and how fast it’s gone! Moshavah Aleph has been spectacular and we’re all looking forward to the last Shabbat together!
