We have had an amazing week here in Tiferet!  It’s had to belive that it’s already Thursday and that tomorrow the chanichim (campers) will be welcoming their second shabbat and beginning an exciting third week at camp!

Yesterday, we went on a surprise tiyul (trip) to the Milwaukee Art Museum. The chanichim got a tour around the museum with our wonderful Visual Art specialists, Ohad and Cam. After our tours, we gathered outside the museum for a picnic lunch, followed by studio in the museum. Each studio was able to experience the museum through the lens of their own artistic passion and connect to the art in different ways. Whether it was visual arts working with sketching and talking about opposites, digital arts working with motion video, dance exploring how looking at one form of art connects to their art in their bodies and movement, drama doing character study or at how light affects mood, or music composing using inspiration drawn from a museum piece, all the chanichim had a chance to personally explore the Milwaukee Art Museum.

After studio, the chanichim had free time to be in the museum and explore. They were able to look at paintings by artists such as Picasso, Georgia O’Keefe, Andy Warhol, and the special exhibit on Wassily Kandinsky. Then, just when the chanichim thought they were headed back to camp, we stopped at the Oconomowoc Band Shell for some relaxation and tasty gelato! We had a truly fantastic field trip!

This has been a wonderful first two weeks in Tiferet! All of the chanichim are showing more and more every day their passion and talent for their art. I can’t wait for the final two weeks of Tiferet Bet!
