By Micah Brandhandler, Rosh Eidah of Chalutzim

We have had such a great week so far in Chalutzim! We finally were able to get back to our normal routine and had a great week doing all of the camp activities that everyone loves.  We switched chugim and allowed everyone that wanted to try something new, such as Sailing or Krav Maga.  Everyone is having a wonderful time and learning a lot of different skills that they cannot wait to continue to do for the last week.

On Friday we had a very special Kitah Ivrit where there were different stations and every camper went from station to station to learning about different Israeli genres of music and lots of new songs.  Everyone got their own “iPod” and was able to write the different songs that they like on it, and during the second half they chose which station that they wanted to learn more about and focused on that genre.  Everyone had a blast and we ended the program with an Israeli dance party.  When the campers leave next week, the counselors will be making discs of the favorite songs that all of the campers can take home and listen to.

We are very excited and sad that we are heading into our last week, but I know that we are going to make this finale something that the kids will never forget!
