As we head into the final week of Gesher 2014, the chanichim (campers) are working hard on the preparations for our upcoming Gesher Carnival!  The carnival will be held this Thursday, August 7th, for the rest of camp to enjoy, and the chanichim have prepared about 12 booths, a skit and several songs and dances to perform for everyone. During the carnival, there will be inflatables and a dunk tank, cotton candy, and much more. The carnival theme will finally be revealed to the rest of camp, and the hard work and dedication shown by the Gesher campers will finally be realized. The Gesher Carnival is an event that everyone looks forward to during our final week here at OSRUI, and I am confident that this year will be one the best yet!

Aside from our carnival, we have had quite a busy week. After a relaxing Shabbat weekend we had an Erev Tzrif (cabin night) each cabin participated in their own evening program, and the kids had a blast. Some of the programs included doing swing by choice at our climbing tower, a campfire with s’mores as well as going on a pontoon ride! On Sunday, we took our third and final fieldtrip to the Wisconsin Dell’s theme park, Mt. Olympus! The chanichim were able to explore the amusement park and waterpark rides with their friends and enjoy their time in the sun. Gesher, Tzofim and Tiferet all came together for our day in the park, and the chanichim were able to strengthen the friendships they had created during our Tiferet-Gesher Pool party as well as making some new friends with chanichim from Tzofim!

This final week is going to be quite the ride. With our two chuggim wrapping up in just a few short days and carnival right around the corner, it seems like the session has just flown by. This group of Gesher chanichim has been absolutely amazing, and as they continue working to build a strong Gesher community, I know we will finish out the session even stronger than we started it.
