Fruits-and-veggiesToday it snowed in Jerusalem! It was about to stop our amazing group from going to the shuk. However, it didn’t!

The minute we pulled up, we saw all the craziness of the shuk. Since it was Friday afternoon, everyone was rushing to buy last minute things for Shabbos. When we first stepped off the bus, we got in line to buy some falafel and shwarma. We then got to walk around for a bit. We saw a variety of different foods from blocks of halava to fish on ice. Ezzy  and Claire Dodinval got to test out their Hebrew speaking abilities. They went to go buy halava and the man who sold it to them didn’t speak much English. It was an exciting challenge and they were victorious.

SnowAs we kept walking, we kept bumping into people. It was very different than a Friday afternoon of grocery shopping. We also got to see different kinds of tea and all wanted to taste the beautifully colored fruit. Whenwe were waiting to meet up with the rest of the group,we were all standing outside, and suddenly it started snowing!! We thought it was funny because all the Israelis were freaking out about all the snow while all of the Americans were totally used to it. Overall, it was a very fun and successful day in the shuk!
