As the song by Rabbi Larry Milder goes:
Wherever you go there’s always someone Jewish
You’re never alone when you say you’re a Jew
So when you’re not home
And you’re somewhere kind of ‘newish’
The odds are–don’t look far–
‘Cause they’re Jewish, too.
All we did was replace “Jewish” with “OSRUI-ish.” And OSRUI was everywhere!
In Tzfat, we ran into Sam Sloane. In Tel Aviv, we visited with Gordy Tcath in Rabin Square, or Kikar Rabin. And in Jerusalem, we learned about the Masa Israel Teaching Fellows Program from Ashley Barrett.
Plus, we met up with some of the Summer 2014 mishlachat (Israeli staff) and Tome Sha’altiel while in Tel Aviv, too.
Wherever we went, there was always someone OSRUI-ish!
