By Becca Levy, Rosh Eidah of Tiferet
This week in Tiferet, we spent a lot of time preparing for the Star Spangled Mesibah, an all camp talent show! Each year Tiferet chanichim (campers) have the opportunity to host the Mesibah, presenting a top-secret theme, skits, songs, and dances between each of the talent acts. This year’s theme is still a secret, known only by those in Tiferet, until we present the Mesibah to all of camp next Saturday, July 4th! Last night, we had our fourth Mesibah rehearsal with the whole eidah (unit), where the chanichim learned the second dance number and the final song that they will perform together!
Sunday night, we took a break from Mesibah rehearsal to celebrate erev tzrif (Cabin Night). All the tzrifim joined together after dinner for an evening of bonding with the other chanichim and madrichim (counselors) in their tzrif. This week’s erev tzrifim, planned by the madrichim were amazing! One tzrif had a pontoon ride, while another went to Etgar, OSRUI’s climbing tower, to do a high ropes activity. Another had a pajama party and played fish bowl while the last tzrif had a cookout and went on a tractor ride!
On top of all of the exciting things happening in Tiferet, our second week is finishing off with a bang with Maccabiah, an all-camp sports and arts competition! Each eidah was split into four different colors, and the whole camp came together today! On top of Mesibah rehearsal and Maccabiah all of our regular camp activities are still happening and each day is filled with fun surprises! From Mesibah, to tubing, to etgar, and chugim, each chanich has something (or many things) that they can look forward to here in Tiferet!
