On this Shabbat, we are lucky, blessed, and so excited to have our entire tzevet (staff) with us for this Shabbat!

Next Shabbat, we will have a full machaneh (camp)!

Last night we held our Oconomo-staff Talent Show.  There were music acts, magic acts, dance acts, silly acts, serious acts, and so much more.  The highlight of the night was a wonderful display of an amazing and lasting friendship that is a true testament to the impact Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute has on its community.

Rafi E. and Peter L. met during the first year of Gesher in 2006.  They were in the same cabin that summer, and the same tent in 2008 in Mosh, and not only cabin mates in Chalutzim, but bunk mates. They even performed a cover of “Sweet Child O’ Mine” together with a Ukelele and Kazoo in Oconomostock (our second session talent show) in 2009.

Ten years later, they are both giving back to camp as a music specialist and teva director, and most importantly, they are still the best of friends.

Last night Rafi and Peter performed an amazing cover of “You Got a Friend In Me” to remind us that at OSRUI we provide a “summer of fun and a lifetime of friends”!

Shabbat Shalom!
