What do you do when you’ve already been at camp for a week and you want to shake it up for a day? Why not bring some animals into the mix?
So, on Tuesday, a beautiful, sunny day, Kallah Bet got on a bus and went to the Madison zoo! The excitement of the campers cannot be overstated. The zoo! Gan Chayot! Animals! Leaving camp! Doing something new!
While we were at the zoo, we saw all sorts of animals. A polar bear came right up to the glass to greet us! We waved to the penguins, said hi to the giraffes, and fed some goats in the petting zoo. We saw a sleeping tiger up close, and we even got a view of some badgers! We climbed a giant tree house and through obstacles like the ones animals might have.

There was even a scavenger hunt some of us went on – Take a selfie with the lion! Sing the penguin song in front of the penguins! Sleep on one leg like a flamingo!

As we explored the zoo and marveled at the world around us, we laughed and had a lot of fun. But as fun and crazy as the day was, by the end of the day, everyone was tired out. As excited as we were to go to the zoo, we were also excited to get back to camp and back into our normal routine. Here to be at camp, though we love to shake it up and go on field trips, we love being at camp and having fun here!
