It’s been a fun filled two weeks in Moshavah so far this summer! We enjoyed settling into our ohelim (tents) and getting accustomed to our tight knit community downstairs. Each day the chanichim (campers) enjoy their chug (activity) and sports, swimming and so much more! However, the one thing that differs mosh from the rest of OSRUI is our unique opportunity to go out on tiyulim (trips). We went over some trip orientation, found out who was on our tiyulim and headed out into beautiful Northern Wisconsin on Monday!

What’s so incredible about these tiyulim is that there are four different trips that Mosh gets to experience. There is biking, hiking, rock climbing and canoeing. These four trips are difficult physically and mentally in their own ways. They provide everyone with opportunities to go outside their comfort zone and to push themselves to new limits. Each day, while out on trips, is momentous and rewarding. To see the beautiful teva (nature) and to bond with different peers within the unit is something that makes Mosh such a wonderful community. When the tiyulim return four days later, everyone excitedly reunites together and head off to their well-deserved showers!

When I think back to when I was a chanicha in Moshavah, I fondly remember the times I had out on tiyulim. I was encouraged to be the best that I could be and to give each day my all. And little did I know that some of the people I met while out on these trips would end up one day becoming my best friends in the entire world. Moshavah has become home for so many chanichim throughout the years and it’s amazing to see Mosh Bet return from their first tiyul and finally make Mosh their home as well. We are excited for a week at camp, but are eagerly awaiting our last tiyul of the summer!
