We are excited to welcome Rachel Lyon to the OSRUI team as our new registrar. Rachel will handle all aspects of camper registration and be available to answer parent questions about OSRUI and the camp experience.

Rachel grew up attending URJ’s Goldman Union Camp Institute in Zionsville, Indiana. She spent each summer from 2001-2014 at camp as a camper, counselor, and leadership staff member. After graduating from Indiana University with a BS in Arts Management and Telecommunications, she moved to New York City. While there, Rachel served as the Events Administrator on the North American Events team at the Union for Reform Judaism. She worked on the registration, logistics, and customer experience for all professional development events, creating relationships with the participants as well as the staff members whose events she helped facilitate.

Rachel is thrilled to have the opportunity to join the OSRUI community, utilize her camping experience, and, as a native of Columbus, Ohio, is excited to be back in the Midwest.

With Rachel’s arrival, Denise Heimlich, who many of our parents have come to know over the years through her work with registration and as parent liaison, transitions to a new position. While Denise has overseen marketing and communication in the past, she will take on additional responsibility as we expand our efforts in this area. In addition, she’ll be working with our Director of Development, Alexandra Argentar, on development operations and community relations.
