It has been an incredible week here in Gesher, especially the day of our field trip to the park! During our field trip, we were even able to bring some of the fun of OSRUI with us, like our madrichim (counselor) led chugim (electives). While we were at the park, we participated in Walking Chug, Sports Chug, Arts and Crafts Chug, and more! We also made up some of our own games, like Musical Crazy Creeks (just like musical chairs, but with chairs muuuuch closer to the ground)!

The chanichim (campers) then had an amazing opportunity to bond as an eidah (unit) when we walked to the beach and swam for a few hours! Even though we get to swim every day at camp, there’s something extra special about swimming in a new place with close friends. For an even bigger surprise, we all got ice cream at the beach!

After our field trip, our whole eidah came back to camp excited and energized – and we got to swim again at our own pool! Finally, we closed the day with an awesome tochnit erev (evening program) of Capture the Flag. In short, Gesher had the best day ever! These are the days when camp friendships turn into lifelong bonds, and Gesher memories become ingrained in our heads for years to come. Todah rabah (thank you) to all of Gesher, the madrichim and chanichim alike, for making this day truly one for the books!

Jami Goldberg is thrilled to spend her 12th summer at OSRUI as Rosh Eidahof Gesher! While she just returned from a semester abroad in Argentina, she’s always excited to travel home to Oconomowoc.
