We’re already a week into Kallah Gimmel, and we’re having an absolute blast! Our chanichim (campers) have bonded and formed a strong community already! So far, one of our most fun tochniot erev (evening programs) has been Counselor Dress Up. Each tzrif (cabin) was assigned a madrich/a (counselor), and the tzrif worked together to dress them up for the fashion show at the end of the program! We got to see our madrichim dressed as cats, mythological creatures, and more! It was a silly, crazy Kallah night, and we all had a blast!

In the first week of camp, we’ve also had the opportunity to experience all that camp has to offer. Every chanich/a is a part of a chug (elective), such as cooking, sports, teva (nature), media, sailing, and more! All of Kallah has been to the pool and the lake, and the tzrifim have had a lot of fun doing trivia together! Our limud (Jewish learning) theme is Israel, and we’ve already learned about the Declaration of Independence and some awesome Israeli inventions! We had an amazing time on Friday and Saturday celebrating Shabbat for the first time as Kallah Gimmel 2018, and of course, celebrating with all of camp is the most special moment of the week. We can’t wait for more fun and excitement in the next week in Kallah Gimmel!

Sara Splansky, our Kallah Rosh Eidah, is celebrating her 15th summer at OSRUI, and her 6th on staff. When not at camp, she works as a full-time nanny, and in her spare time, she loves to travel to new places, find the greatest restaurants, and read books.
