Young Alumni Connect

A team of OSRUI young alumni have been meeting over the past several months to create pathways of continued involvement with camp and to grow new support among the next generation of alumni. We are grateful for their passionate commitment to camp!

Thanks to a generous donor in our community, all new and increased donations from OSRUI young alumni (35 and under) will be matched $1 for $1. If you or someone you know would like to make a donation and be counted in the match, please go to osrui.org/donate and make sure to click the box “I’m an OSRUI young alum.”

A special thanks to the following alumni for their support and outreach: Becky Dolinko, Jami Goldberg, Missy Goldstein. Emma Kaplan, Jacob Letwat, Micah Riskin, Dan Rubin, Ross Schneider & Emily Snow.

Alumni Spotlight: Emma Kaplan

The OSRUI community is filled with wonderful alumni. We are excited to highlight some of our alums, what camp means to them, and learn more about what the great work they are bringing to the world. Know an alumni we should spotlight? Email jschwartz@urj.org

In this blog we are excited to share a little bit about Emma Kaplan, a member of our Young Alumni Leadership Group.

Emma has spent 6 years as a camper and 5 years on staff at OSRUI. Additionally, she spent one summer on a URJ NFTY in Israel program.
Today, Emma is the Educational Experience Producer at The iCenter  in Chicago, where she works with several other OSRUI alums. The iCenter is dedicated to connecting young Jews to Israel and the Jewish people.
Why you are involved with camp and the Young Alumni Leadership Group?
I love camp! As I’ve grown into adulthood, my desire to stay connected has deepend in so many ways. Camp has been such an important part of my life for almost two decades and it’s important (now more than ever) to actively work to sustain camp so that every Jewish kid has access to the magic that is OSRUI.
