By Micah Brandhandler, Chalutzim Rosh Eidah

We have a very exciting couple of days ahead of us in Chalutzim.  The first thing is that Festikayitz is happening tonight!  Chalutzim has been hard at work preparing for this special all camp talent show that is entirely about Israel or in Hebrew.  It’s something special that the kids will remember about this summer and something that they can say that they were the first Chalutzim year to present Festikayitz.

On Sunday we have Yom Horim (parents day) where the families of our campers will come up and spend the day with their campers at camp.  The families should arrive at 11:00 and we will have the kids take them to their Hebrew classes to show the parents what they have learned in Chalutzim.  After that we have some free time with the parents where they can walk around camp, eat lunch, get something from Chanut (canteen), and just enjoy some time with one another.  At 3:00 the campers have put on a program for the parents where they have learned some Israeli songs and dances and they might do a little skit about what a “normal” day in Chalutzim is like.

We cant wait to see and meet everyone that is coming up for Yom Horim and we are excited for the second half of the Summer to start.
