By Danny Altkorn, Rosh Eidah of Moshavah

We’re only a few days in, Moshavah Bet 2014 is already off to an amazing start! However, just because we recently began the session, that doesn’t mean we haven’t done anything yet. In fact, we’ve had a very eventful start to the summer!

Tuesday, after everyone got settled downstairs in their ohelim (tents), we kicked off our limud (Jewish Learning) program with some team building activities, and capped it all off with the age-old camp tradition: making s’mores! Everyone had a blast and was able to spend time with old friends while meeting new ones.

We’ve been doing just about everything camp has to offer! Chugim (electives), sports and Ivrit (Hebrew) started off Wednesday morning and some chanichim (campers) have already made it to the top of Etgar (Our 5-story Alpine Tower). We’ve gone swimming at the agam (lake) and at the breicha (pool).

The most exciting news in Mosh right now is that we leave on our first tiyul (trip) on Monday! We have amazing trips that will be sent off: biking hiking, rock climbing, and canoeing. In Mosh Bet, we take 4 day trips, and everyone is incredibly excited to share these experiences with the chanichim, both with the veterans of Mosh and those who haven’t yet experienced a tiyul. The tiyulim are incredible bonding experiences where everyone gets to know each other and themselves better.

It’s been a fantastic first week and we are all looking forward to the next three!
