Name: Daniel Shore
Position at camp: Kallah Rosh Eidah (Unit Head)
Years on staff: 9
Total years at OSRUI: 15

What do you do when you’re not at camp?
I am in a Ph.D. program for Industrial-Organizational Psychology at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.

What is your favorite part of camp and why?
I enjoy guiding campers to be themselves while discovering new talents and interests…not to mention doing the same thing for myself—from my Elmo voice to my hat collection!

What is your favorite meal at camp?
My favorite meals at camp are the ones where I get to join a cabin and hear about what they have enjoyed already and still want to do. It’s even better if they’re serving chicken nuggets.

What is one thing about you that would surprise people?
I play the alto saxophone. Most people think I just carry around an empty case, but there’s an instrument in there and it’s great for lights-out programs!

What is your favorite memory at OSRUI?
I remember, from my time as a camper, when an army helicopter landed on the basketball courts and everyone pretended the Prime Minister of Israel was visiting. Needless to say, I was very excited at the moment.

What keeps bringing you back to work at camp?
There is no place where I feel more valued and truly able to use all of my talents and abilities.

What do you hope to accomplish this summer at camp?
I hope to use my experience to add even more fun to Kallah and all of camp!!
